Calcium chloride is a chemical composed of and calcium with the formula CaCl2, slightly bitter. It is a typical ionic halide with white, hard pieces or granules at room temperature. Common applications include brine used in refrigeration plants, road ice melting agents and desiccants.

It is mainly used for the treatment of hand and foot twitching, urticaria, exudative edema, intestinal and ureteral colic, magnesium poisoning and so on caused by decreased blood calcium 6. Used as calcium enhancer, curing agent, chelating agent and desiccant in the food industry. 7. It can increase the permeability of the bacterial cell wall.
Storage considerations Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Packaging containers must be sealed to prevent moisture. Stacked separately from deliqueous items.
